Although they may not be the most luxurious, Seiko watches are loved by collectors both at the entry level and by the most discerning collector with a cult-like following. A specific sense of satisfaction comes from wearing a Seiko, that you are a part of a long lineage of excellent watchmaking and extreme attention to detail in a resilient fashion across the range of Seiko timepieces. 

Of course, among the many amazing watches this brand has released over the years, there are several dive watches among the fold, the most legendary of which was Seiko’s original professional diver, the 62MAS. But then there are those quote-unquote dive watches that are just as cool but maybe a little less deep water ready, like this fantastic piece. With a tonneau-esque case, silver dial, and funky roulette/rally bezel, it's a watch that makes a statement. And, as with many Seikos, this one looks just as good today as it did in 1970 – a true testament to the brand's incredible and timeless designs.

CASE & BRACELET

The excellent stainless steel case has been gently polished in the past. The case retains its original recessed button crown at 4 o'clock, which operates the day-date function. The case back retains all of its original finishing and factory markings. The star of the show is the incredible rotating bezel, with its navy blue and silver roulette motif and lume pearl at 12 o'clock. The watch is finished with a 2pc handmade leather strap.

DIAL & HANDS

The original silver dial is clean and legible with black markers. The silver outer track features the minute markers and lume plots are still a fantastic white, under U.V. light inspection the 1 o'clock and 2 o'clock lume plots exhibit degradation and the rest of the lume plots remain fully intact. The original baton-shaped hands are in great condition with lume inlays that match the dial, along with a faded yellow seconds hand.
